2004-12-09 - 4:43 p.m. Tryouts are such an interesting thing to observe...they bring out the best and worst in everyone...and no matter how much you think you're prepared for the outcome, you almost never are. I really believe that god has a true purpose for everything and everyone...that said, whatever the outcome of a tryout is MEANT to happen. This simple thought gives me comfort because what i wanted wasnt meant for me, and there is something else i am meant to do. Thinking the above allows me to be happy with what i HAVE accomplished and lets me look forward to whatever it is that I AM meant to be doing. As i have experienced, some lessons only come with time. And the wait sucks, but it doesnt have to at all. You can use the time period to prepare, or enjoy it for what its worth. As for me, im very self conscious, and i look for things like tryouts for example to define me, and who i am, and what im worth. A best friend told me "sometimes it doesnt matter how good you are or arent, maybe you're just not what they're looking for" And i think we all need to remember that just because we may not fit the bill, so to speak, it doesnt mean that we arent precious still. Personally, i hate not accomplishing what i wanted...it happened with cheerleading, and i was crushed, and yet, in not getting varsity, ive developed a whole other, BETTER part of me that i never knew existed at all. How perfect...it was the plan, and when i didnt make cheerleading, i had no clue i was destined for other things. Still(and i know this is getting long, but bless you for still reading lol) i am very very happy for those whose time it is NOW to succeed and fufill their dreams. Everyone's destiny follows a different path, we're just all lucky to intersect on our travels and enjoy each other's company. Dont give up on yourself. Strive to be better, strive to fufill what your destiny is... Love Forever
