2004-12-26 - 10:46 a.m. Merry Christmas"For God so loved the world that he gave us his only begotten son..." John 3:16 Think about those 2 things for just a moment. When you wish someone "merry christmas" what are you wishing for them? Are you merely saying it because you are 'supposed' to be using this greeting during the season? or do you truly mean to be joyous because Christ, the savior of the World was born this day to save all souls? Think of it this way. You are a parent, and have only one child, for all eternity. And you love a people so much, who at times disown you, and doubt you, and yet you are willing to give your child to this world that is so cruel and unloving at times? You give up your child, knowing the hardships he will endure, all to bring the world to yourself for all of eternity? this is the sacrifice God made for you, and for me. For your parents, your siblings, your best friends. He even made the sacrifice for those in jail, on death row...for EVERYONE. God sent Christ to unite the world under the promise of being saved. How amazing. So even though Christmas is a day gone by, the season is far from over. So when you are wishing people merry christmas, stop for a moment and remember how Christ came to save a world that would reject him.
